Vivo has launched another smartphone V7+ for selfie fans. This handset is an upgrade to Vivo V5 Plus (Review). This time the company has not given two camera setups on the front panel, but has used the same camera with more resolution. However, the upgrade is not limited to the front camera. The popular trend 18: 9 display has also been made part of the phone.

21,990 is an interesting price, as customers have less options to buy in this price range. In such a situation, this is a great opportunity for Vivo. What is the company special in Vivo V7+? Is it a profitable deal to buy it? Let’s know …

Vivo V7+ Design and Build Quality

The build quality of the phone is good. It is slim as well as light. The thickness is just 7.7 millimeters. Walking in the pocket is solemn and the texture is such that there is no problem in grip. Its back is of plastic. But it looks like a metal from a distance. Finishing is good and Vivo has given chrome accent to the top and lower back edges which works to enhance the beauty of the phone.
The 3.5mm headphone socket, micro-USB port and speaker are at the bottom. On the left side is a SIM tray with two nano SIMs and slots for microSD cards. You will be able to use microSD cards up to 256 GB. The facility to increase storage in the previous variants was missing. The volume and power buttons are on the right side. There is no difficulty in reaching them during use. It was disappointed to see only the micro-USB connector. In our view, new type-C port should have been used.

Vivo

The most important difference from Vivo’s old phone is 18: 9 aspect ratio. The borders on the top and lower back are thin. On the edges, even more thin. The display has a 2.5D curved age gorilla glass protection that is good in appearance. Sadly, Vivo did not pay attention to the resolution. For the 5.99 inch screen, the company has given HD (720×1440 pixels) resolution that is disappointed. The shocking thing is that the display is not so bad for our hope. The icon and text do not look too sharp. Colors are diverse and the viewing angle is also not bad. There is also a place for LED notifications above the screen.

The rear camera comes with a bulge on the back. There was no scratch mark on the camera lens during the review. The fingerprint sensor is in the middle of the rear part, above the logo of Vivo. The sensor will identify you quickly. With the help of this sensor, you will also be able to lock the app and take selfies. In the box, you will find silicone cover, SIM Ejector Tool, Quick Start Guide, Headset, Data Cable and 10 Watt Charger.

Vivo V7+ specification and feature

Vivo V7+ has a Qualcomm’s 400 series top and Snapdragon 450 processor. It comes with Qualcomm’s own Adreno 506 GPU. In terms of performance, it is better than the rest of the Snapdragon 400 series processor. Multitasking does not have problems and it is also easy to play games. This Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 processor is not so fast. But it cannot be called weak. The phone has 64 GB storage with 4 GB RAM, which is a good thing. Other specifications include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-OTG and FM Radio.

Vivo

Vivo has upgraded its FuntchoS. It is based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat. But in this custom ROM on Android, the inspiration of iOS is clearly visible. In the new version, the notifications appear in the same way with iOS. Vivo’s control center is present. You can activate it by swiping upwards from the lower back on the screen. Funtch OS is a UI with a layer, so all the apps are on homescreen for you.

You will be able to enable face beauty during video calls in the select app. With the help of smart split 3.0, you will be able to use two apps together on the screen at one time. But it works with a select app. At the same time, there is no support for Nougat’s standard split screen feature. If you want, you will be able to run two accounts in some apps. For example, two WhatsApp account from different numbers.

Settings app will confuse you in the first glimpse. Many functions will not be found where they should be. It may have slight more polishing, such as text and alignment of menu.

Vivo V7+ Performance, Camera and Battery Life

Despite being weak chipset according to the ranking, common performance is good. We usually never had any complaint with performance. The UI performance is good and the phone handles multitasking easily. It slowly slowed down. There is no problem while playing a casual game. However, in the gameplay in powerful graphics games, framerators are not able to remain continuously. VoLTE works well on Jio Network. The dialer app is also standard. It does not have a separate video calling option, but it comes with a built in call recorder.

Vivo

The big display is made only to watch the video. The phone easily plays a file with 1080 pixels resolution. But falls behind in a video with more resolution. Can’t play 4K video.

The handset of Vivo’s V series is known for the front camera. This time the company has given a 24 -megapixel sensor. Aperture is F/2.0. You will also get beauty mode for selfie and video calls. Portrait mode has also been given despite the removal of secondary sensor. With its help, you can get the so -called Bokeh Effect, but you can not adjust depth. Selfies were good under most circumstances. The sensor captures the details well, but the skin tone is not accurate.

In low light, the front camera captures details and colors and also keeps the noise level under control. There is also a moonlight flash at the front. It gives defuse lights on your face. It can be used under low light conditions.

The 16 -megapixel sensor on the rear part comes with a focus auto focus. Landscape and macros shots taken in daylight come with good details. Colors also come well. There is a decline in the quality of photographs without the low light or the suitable light in the indoor.

You will be able to record videos up to 1080 pixels resolution. The quality is good, but the tremors are clearly visible due to lack of stabilization. The camera app is almost completely copied by Apple’s iPhone camera app. Auto HDR mode proves to be a very useful feature in bright conditions. You will also get mode like professional, slow-motion, Panorama and Ultra-HD.

Battery life is good. The 3225 mAh battery will last for more than a day in common use. This phone does not support fast charging. But the charger given with the handset charged the battery up to 50 percent in 1 hour. In our video loop test, the battery lasted for 12 hours 4 minutes which is good.

Our decision

Vivo has started giving some new features worth noting in his smartphone. Vivo V7+ is also the result of these efforts. The display with 18: 9 aspect is a welcome step. We also liked that the company has moved towards Android Nougat. The front camera works well under most circumstances. However, it looks a bit expensive given plastic body, budget level processor and low resolution screen.

Today, we have a better build handsets that come with great features and strong specifications. And their price is also low. In such a situation, there is nothing wrong in the demand for more by the user in view of this price. The rear camera did not impress us much. For this screen size, there should be at least full-HD resolution. Two cameras on the front or backpanel have also now become popular features. The company should also think about this.

Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) is a good option at a price of Rs 22,000. You will find a great build device that comes with a great feature like Samsung Pay and Waterproof. Vivo’s own V5 Plus is also a good option. You will get more powerful processor at almost the same price, but it is still stuck on Android Marshmallow and storage cannot be increased. It is worth noting that in today’s date, many such phones are found for Rs 15,000 which will give a thorn in expensive Vivo V7+.
