In 2022, the company launched Sony X75K in the TV segment with TVs available in size from 43 inches to 65 inches. Today I am going to review 43 inch variants of this series which is Sony KD-43X75K Ultra-HD LED Smart tvIt is priced at Rs 53,190 which is listed on Sony’s online store. Companies like Xiaomi and Realme provide 43 inch 4K TVs in a range of up to Rs 30,000, comparing them, this TV of Sony is very high.
However, this new TV of Sony comes with a promise of better performance according to its price and it is placed as a premium option for the customers who want to go slightly above the budget TV range. Is Sony KD-43x75K that premium? Find out in this review.
Sony KD-43x75K Ultra-HD Android TV Design and Specifications
Sony X75K is the most affordable TV in the company’s Ultra HD TV series. But 43x75k is not as affordable as it has been reported. It is quite expensive than the rest of the companies at a price of Rs 53,910 and the price for its 65 -inch size reaches Rs 1 lakh. All TVs in the company’s X75K range come with ULTRA-HD (3840×2160 pixels) LED LCD displays, which have support for high dynamic range, HLG and HDR10 formats.
When it comes to the design, the Sony KD-43x75K TV looks a little better than the usually 43 inch TVs. The credit goes to the beautiful finish of the thin border around the screen. Soni’s logo is given in the front. The TV is as thick as you can expect from any LED TV of this size. In the bottom, there has been a slight slopes in the TV, which shows the bottom firing speakers out a little.
The TV can be mount or wall mouted, although only the table is found in the table mount stand. You can use any vesa compatible wall mount to apply it on the wall. Sony gives free technician service for installation, if you want a wall mount, it is made available by the company through technician.
One set of ports and sockets is given backwards in TV while the other is given in the left side of the screen. The ports given on the back include an HDMI port (with ARC), video-in socket, ethernet port for wired connectivity, digital audio out (tootink) port, and power socket.
By mounting the TV, access to all these ports becomes very difficult, due to which cables and plugs can be bend to such an extent that they get spoiled. Before applying on the wall, you have to make sure that all these connections are properly.
Two HDMI ports, two USB Type-A ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an antenna socket have been given for side facing connectivity. All these are easy to access, but I was disappointed that any of these HDMI ports do not get the support of Audio Return Channel (ARC). However, the latest HDCP 2.3 standard support is available in all HDMI ports.
Talking about its other main specifications, it has a refresh rate of 50Hz, Sony Motionflow XR 200 Interpolation algorithm, and 16GB inbuilt storage for apps and app data. The TV has a 20W bottom firing, open beifar speaker system with which Dolby Audio supports. Wireless connectivity provides Bluetooth 5 and dual band Vai-Fi connectivity and wired ethernet connectivity.
Sony KD-43X75K Ultra-HD Android TV Remote and Features
The company offers a big, full functional remote with TV. It has infrared emitter and Bluetooth connectivity. When connected through Bluetooth, its infrared Emitkar is used to only TV on or off. Apart from this, all other functions like, voice command with microphone on remote etc. also use Bluetooth connectivity. For that, you do not have to point the remote towards the TV.
Number pads, direction pads, back and home buttons are given for navigation on the remote. Apart from this, playback control, and Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Hot for YouTube Music are given hot. A dedicated button has also been given to activate Google Assistant. Apart from this, it also has an information button which gives information about the resolution of streaming content, connection speed and many other things. The remote looks good, works well.
The Sony KD-43x75k includes Build in Google Crack, Sony X1 4K processor, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Airplay 2, and it is equipped with HDMI CEC support to control connected devices. You can also use TV’s Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headphones and speakers.
All these features work as expected, but note here that you will need a separate app for Apple devices so that wireless connectivity can be made from TV. I used airscreen available for Android TV at Google Play Store and worked well.
Sony KD-43X75K Ultra-HD Android TV Software and Interface
The Google TV user interface was launched in 2020 with Chromecast with Google TV. But most of the TV manufacturers are preferred to go with Android TV interfaces. Sony adopted the new user interface long ago and runs on KD-43x75K Android TV 11 with Google TV UI at the top. It provides Google Play Store for Android TV, in which more than 5000 apps design and optimize for use on TV. Apart from this, Google Assistant and Cravcast also get access easily.
However, Google TV UI Stock looks better than Android, and has some useful features. For example, Google Play Movies are no longer available on the app but is given in the user interface. This means that you can search for a movie and TV shows, can take or buy them on rent, and the purchase is directly from UI.
It also has an approved rating of roton tomato in search and recandation for many titles. The system reaches movies and TV shows from many streaming services such as Disney+ Hotstar, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video and Voot. Overall, Google TV UI is a fresh and necessary change for Android TV and the competition gets a competition due to Sony being a rapid adoption. Especially when you like to see streaming content more. Everything was working properly for me, and while using TV, I did not even get any software issue in it.
Sony KD-43X75K Ultra-HD Android TV Performance
Many famous brands in India offer 43 -inch Ultra HD TV at a price of less than 30 thousand rupees. In such a situation, Sony KD-43x75k will also have to be presented something different from the rest, which also does it. TV gets good design, useful and premium features and excellent software experience that leads it to a notch from the rest. The highest number of among them is that the performance is performance … in which this TV of Soni does not miss at all.
The support of Dolby Vision and HDR10+ in affordable TV is no longer very extraordinary but this TV of Sony comes only with the support of HLG and HDR10, which may disappoint you. Nevertheless, with the help of Picture Calibration and Superior HDR, it also fulfills its deficiency to a great extent.
Brightness does not emerge much with HDR content in TV, but format makes the colors of content more sharp. For example, on Netflix, our great national parks and bullsh*t the game show looked great in the dark or Dim light room. Even in the ambient light, the attention from TV was not able to move much.
Nature’s colors and game show’s bright lights looked very well on TV. The skin tone looked very good. Similarly, the shade of blue and green in the forest was emerging from absolutely accuracy. Sony KD-43x75k gives sharp picture that shows good colors and clean motion. This TV of Sony was able to give more sharp and detailed picture than the second budget TV with the same specification as the same size.
This quality venom: Let there be seen well in the dark scenes of be carnage. Motion on TV also looks great, which is possible due to its motion interpolation. The action scenes of the venom sequel were getting very smoothly played. Even in the bright light of the day, there was no significant effect on the TV screen. But, when the sun’s direct sunlight comes in the room, the screen does not look so reflective. According to LED TV, its black levels were quite good. Apart from this, the contrast level was also being set well.
The 43 -inch TV suits the most to watch from the pass, but the small size also has an advantage that the low resolution content also looks full of sharp and details like 4K. Sony’s sharpness, clean motion and good color levels look great in full HD content. The scenes of Kim’s Convenience and Pacific Rim also looked good despite low resolution.
The sound quality of Sony KD-43x75K is simple, but even if you do not use a sound bar or speaker system, it will seem sufficient. The sound on the high volume is good, the dialogues are heard and the background score is also good. But on high volumes, the TV does not do that much loud sound. Overall, it is enough to enjoy watching TV in the bedroom late at night.
I had some problems with 5GHz Wi-Fi connectivity. Many times the TV was unable to connect with the 5GHz band of my home router, even though it was just a few meters away from the TV. In such a situation, there was a hindrance in streaming high resolution content. It showed stable connectivity after switching to the 2.4GHz band.
Verdict
In today’s era, many main stream Ultra HD 43 inch TVs are available. This TV of Sony stood differently for its performance. TV’s functional design, good specification and software, HDR performance and the general ability to play all kinds of content include it in the list of TVs that I liked by reviewing. If we watch some flaws of TV, then it becomes difficult to justify its price.
Sony KD-43x75K TV above 50 thousand rupees is about 20 thousand rupees expensive than others. If you want to buy it as a secondary TV, then it does not seem to be prudent to spend so much money. If you want to use it as a primary TV, and you only want a TV of this size, then you can definitely buy it.
55 -inch TVs like Mi TV 5X are available at a lower price, so Sony is only for those who want good performance and can pay a premium price for 43 inch. It is far ahead of the other market competitions of its size and will not disappoint the customer who buy if the buyer has no problem with its price.
