The next name in the smartphone range of Rs 8,000 is of Centric L3. The Central L3 smartphone priced at Rs 6,749 was launched in India last month. The brand is from Mumbai -based company Priyanka Telecom and before that the company has also launched Centric G1. The company claims that its L3 smartphone is the best smartphone in its range and has been designed keeping in mind the Indian user. Let us tell you that there are already smartphones in the market in this range. Let’s know, the Centric L3 is how much capable smartphone in its category …

Design of Centric L3

Of course, the Centric L3 is a budget smartphone. It has a plastic body. Build quality is not much better and it does not take a premium at all to see the phone in terms of price. We did not like the glossy finish of its back. The backs start to catch the phone. Talking further, the phone has a 5 -inch display, which is with 18: 9 aspect ratio. Earphones, selfie cameras and notification lights are given above the display. The fingerprint sensor is given below the display. The fingerprint scanner is not so smooth and does not give better results at a time.

On looking from a cursory sight, the phone is unibodied, but its backkavar can be applied/extracted. The SIM and microSD slots of the phone are given in the back, not in the tray, so that users will be able to use them easily. Talking about the battery, the Central L3 has a non-removable battery of 3050 mAh, which comes with a charge of 7.5 watts. Along with this centric smartphone, the user is also being given an in-ear headphone.

Specifications and Software of Centric L3

The Central L3 has a 5 -inch IPS display. The top of the display also has 2.5D curved glass. This panel cannot be said better at this price. We were easily seen by pixel lines. Viewing angles are not good. The display is also not as bright, which is easily visible to the user in the direct sunlight. While reviewing, our team also had a problem of backlight on the left side under the display. Centric later sent a second phone, which did not face any such problem.

Centric has used the MediaTek 6737 quad-core processor in the handset, with the highest clock speed of 1.3 GHz. All the phones around this range (Oppo A83, Ivoomi i11, Techno Caon I) This processor works. The Centric L3 has 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. Storage can be increased to 256 GB with the help of micro SD card. L3 is a dual SIM phone, with slots for 2 micro SIMs. It supports 4G and VoLTE. Talking about connectivity, the handset is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi B/G/N/, GPS and FM radio.

Talking about software, the phone works on Android Nougat with some changes. With the help of proximity sensor, users will also be able to use motion gesture in it. Apart from this, users will be able to take calls, change music and click photos. Also, the feature of changing wallpaper through gesture is also present in it. For the launch, the user has also been given the option to make letters by tapping screen double. However, the phone takes time to identify the gesture. This feature is not as useful for everyone. Looking at the interface, it seems that it has been brought to English from another language. Making mistakes related to language and not understanding the instructions properly indicates its lack.

Centric has given some apps in advance in the phone. These include Centric Care, Centric Store and Swiftki Keyboard. It also has doctors online app, through which users will be able to chat with a doctor if needed. This is a paid service and charges Rs 29 for the competitor made with the user. Also, Rs 49 is taken from the user for live chat. Through the app, users will be able to take appointments directly from doctors and pathology.

Performance, Camera and Battery of Centric L3

After using all the smartphones of this range, we had got a lot of idea about the performance of Central L3. Indeed, MediaTek MT6737 is an early level processor, which is better for basic works. Due to 2 GB RAM or ‘weak’ processor, the phone gets slow in between. Multitasking is still good but the compulsion to close the first app to use the second app is included in it.

We also used games like missiles and shadow fight 3 in the phone. Since Missiles is a basic game, we did not face any problem while playing it. It took a long time to load the shadowite and while playing, the phone started getting stuck in between.

The Centric L3 has a 3050 mAh battery, which cannot be taken out. In general use, this battery lasts 1 day. In our HD video loop test, the phone remained ‘alive’ for 9 hours 29 minutes. The handset also has intelligent power saving mode, which is helpful in keeping the mobile running when the battery is over.

Talking about the camera, a 13 -megapixel camera has been given in the rear of the Central L3, which supports the autofocus feature. The camera was very dull when used. The camera is taking time to focus and we had to tap again and again for the right picture. The camera is also taking a long time to go into auto scene mode. We found that the synergy of colors in pictures during the day is average.

Landscape shots are better and clear but the picture is deteriorating when zoomed. The phone camera is capable of giving a macro shot but is taking time to focus. In low light, the phone reduces the shutter speed and increases iOSA value. During this time, the user’s hand moving can spoil the picture. Photos become blurred at night. Taking a macro shot in low light, the camera loses control with focus and shutter speed.

Photos taken from selfie camera are average. Here too, there is a possibility of deteriorating work due to the user’s shaking hands. The video quality is average and for both cameras it goes up to a maximum of 720 pixels.

Decision

The Centric L3 has participated in a race where there are already a significant content. There is nothing that can make it separate from others. At the same time, there is nothing wrong in this phone, on which it is not advisable to buy it. If you do not worry about the brand, a basic phone needs to be a better option to buy a centric L3. At the same time, in the category of 18: 9 aspect, you can also turn to Infocus Vision 3, which has a big battery at the same price.
