Realme 2 design
Like Realme 1, Reality 2 has a fiber glass body. Glossy diamond-cut design is given on the back panel of the handset. On the back of the smartphone, there are 15 tangent plane curves that reflect the lights in different ways. Due to the fiber glass, scratches and fingers are easily on the back panel. The notch display is present on the front panel, the Border of Realme 2 is much thinner than the model handsets present in the market. The frame of Reality 2 may be of Plasitak but still the phone is very strong. On the back panel you will get a dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint sensor has been given for security. The company’s name is written on the back panel. As we told you earlier that Realme has now become a separate brand after separating from Oppo. This is the reason that Oppo logo was present on the back panel of Reality 1, which you will not get to see in Realme 2.
Realme 1 does not have a fingerprint sensor on the back panel for security. Face recognition technology has been used in this handset. After feedback from customers, the company has added fingerprint sensor to Reality 2. The sad thing has been that the fingerprint sensor present in Realme 2 works slowly and for the first time we had a problem in registering the fingerprint. Like Realme 1, Reality 2 also gets face recognition support, it works accurately but it is not as effective in low light.
There is a button and sim tray to increase and reduce the voice on the left side of Realme 2. If you want, you can install two nano SIMs and a microSD card. The power button is given on the right side of the phone. The button is quite small but at the same time it is quite hard, due to which you may have some difficulty in pressing it. Single loudspeakers have been given along with micro-USB port. The first cell of the handset was on 4 September, it will be available in Diamond Red and Diamond Black color. We have a black color variant for review, as you can see in photos. Diamond Blue variant will be available from October.
Realme 2 specification and display
The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset is used in Reality 2. Please tell that this processor will give you Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Honor 7C I will also get it. The 3 GB/32 GB variant of Realme 2 is priced at Rs 8,990. The price of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB variants is Rs 10,990. The color variant is correct at this price, but its back panel is very faded and reflected. With the help of microSD card, storage will be increased to 256 GB. Maximum brightness is also affected in the light outside.
Realme 2 has a 4,230 mAh battery for power backup. The company claims that it gives a 15 -hour video playback, 18 hours of music and 10 hours of backup for gaming. Reality 2 out of box will run on Android 8.1 Oreo based ColorS 5.1. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, single-band 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonas, Micro-USB and 3.5mm headphone jack. It has a 6.2 -inch HD+ IPS display, whose aspect ratio is 19: 9. This handset is equipped with Korina Gorilla Glass 3 to protect from scratch.
Realme 2 performance, software and battery life
Watching videos on YouTube, photographing, web brussing and social media applications are able to use Reality 2 easily. While playing Asphalt 9, the frame was seen dropping several times. A good thing in this phone is that it is not hot. During the review, we found that the phone slows down slightly when multitasking in Realme 2. The benchmark score is average. Realme 2 got 76,929 points on the Antootu benchmark score, 5,166 points in PC Mark Work 2.0. The GFXBench Manhatan 3.1 has 12 frames per second and 32 frames per second in GFXBench T-Rex. 793 in single core and Reality 2 in Multi Core Test scored 3,882.
Dual SIM Reality 2 Out of Box runs on Android 8.1 Oreo -based ColorS 5.1. The handset has received the July Security Patch. The app drawer will not be available in the smartphone, the Google Nao panel has been replaced by the custom screen. On the screen you will see temperature, how many steps you have gone, latest photos, favorite contacts. There is a need to simplify the user interface. The setting app is quite misleading and disorganized. Dual apps are equipped with many features such as shortcuts to take screenshots from three fingers, themeing apps and lockscreen gestures. Realme has also added the ‘Nokia Full Screen Multitasking’ feature to the handset. This feature reflects the shortcuts of the recently used apps. Closes the notification and also offers a start screen recording option on the side of the notch.
The WiFi Assistant quite easily switchs between WiFi and cellular data. The time when you are drawing, the smart driving feature will turn on the do not disturb mode by itself. Realme 2 has a 4,230 MH battery which comes with ‘AI Power Master’. The battery life of Reality 2 is much better due to Dim, low-race display and Snapdragon 450 processor. Reality 2 gave a backup of 17 hours 30 minutes in HD video loop test. 40-50 percent battery was also available even after using the phone throughout the day. In the retail box, you will get a 10 watt standard charger of Oppo brand, which is capable of fulfilling the phone in 3 hours.
Realme 2 camera
Dual rear camera setup will be available in Reality 2. The primary sensor is of 13 megapixels, which comes with F/2/.2 Article. The secondary camera is 2 megapixels. On the front panel you will get an 8 -megapixel selfie camera, which has an arpchar f/2.2. Single LED flash is present on the back panel. In the camera app you will find panorama, time laps and 28 AR stickers. The dynamic range of the camera is quite poor. The colors in the picture taken at night do not capture correctly. The rear camera is capable of clicking proper photos when sufficient lights are. The quality of the picture taken during the portrait shot is average, while the picture taken at night was blurred.
Artificial intelligence selfie camera easily detects skin tone, skin type, age, gender. Realme claimed that 8 million beauty reference points are present in their database. The front camera of Reality 2 takes a proper photo in sufficient light, while the quality of the photo in low-light is not as good. The sensor in the phone is capable of capturing the Bokeh shot with the help of software algorithm. We did not like Reality’s AI Beautiful feature much because it gives an effect like watercolor in the photo. The phone’s rear and front camera can record video at 1080p.
Our decision
Realme 2’s battery life, unique design, microSD card slot and build quality are very good. The performance of the phone, the display is fine, while the camera provides the average quality in the picture. The fingerprint sensor on the back panel works at a slow speed. If you are looking for smartphones in this budget range, then Xiaomi Redmi 5 (Review) and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Cheap variants are better options. As soon as Realme 2 was launched, sales were discontinued to the cheapest variants of Realme 1. Let us know that the price of this variant of Reality 1 was Rs 8,990. If you can increase your budget a little, then we will advise you to buy cheap variants of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Apart from this, you can buy 4 GB/ 64 GB variants of Realme 1. The price of this handset is Rs 10,990. This variant comes with more powerful and high resolution display than Realme 2.
