By the way, Lenovo’s 8 Plus is not part of Android One family like Xiaomi Mi A1 (Review). But the experience of using it is almost the same. Is this the only interesting feature in Lenovo’s 8 Plus? Let’s know.
Lenovo k8 plus design
If you have recently used a Lenovo smartphone, then K8 Plus will look very well-known. Lenovo’s 8 plus has a metal body like other options in the market. At first glance, the size of the phone will draw your attention. This is the link between Lenovo’s 8 and Lenovo’s 8 notes. It is made to use one hand. The phone has a 5.2 -inch full HD display. Capsitive Android navigation button is below the display. Lenovo has used non -backlit navigation button in this phone. There is difficulty in finding these buttons in the dark.
Power and volume buttons are on the right side. The texture of the power button is slightly different, so it is easily identified. On the other hand, there is a physical music button. It can also be used to play songs or poses songs, or to change the songs. The good thing is that this button can also be customized to take a screenshot or to launch a particular app.

Lenovo’s 8 plus is a dual sim device and has the SIM tray on the left side. You will get 2 slots for Nano SIM and have a separate slot for microSD card.
Two rear cameras have been provided in the 8 plus on the back. Cameras come with dual-tone LED flash. The fingerprint sensor has found a place under the camera. It is easy to access it. Response is also good and we never had trouble in unlocking the phone. The metal back easily attracts fingers. These were clearly visible on our Vanum Black Review Unit. There is a micro-USB port on the bottom of the phone. There are speaker grills on both sides of it. The 3.5mm headphone socket has got a place at the top.
Lenovo’s 8 plus is slightly thick. The thickness is 8.99 millimeters and weighs 165 grams. Some people will feel this little bullying. This may be due to large battery of 4000 mAh.
Lenovo K8 Plus’s specification and software
Lenovo’s 8 Plus has a 5.2-inch full-HD display. It has a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The viewing angles are good. The color reproduction is also fine. If you want a Panchi contrast, then you have the option to switch the color mode of the display. Brightness is sufficient for indoor, but you will have difficulty in reading something on the screen in sunlight.
Lenovo has used a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor with a 2.5 GHz clock speed. Lenovo’s 8 Plus has 4 GB RAM. The storage is 32 GB and you will be able to use microSD cards up to 128 GB.
Lenovo’s 8 Plus has two rear cameras to remain in trends. One camera is 13 megapixels and the other is 5 megapixels. The secondary camera in the setup works to measure depth in depth mode. The front panel has an 8 -megapixel sensor. This selfie comes with flash. Talking about connectivity, the smartphone has two Nano SIM slots and both support 4G VoLTE. Apart from this, you will get Bluetooth and Wi-Fi B/G/N.

Android fans will be happy to know that Lenovo’s 8 plus stock runs on Android Nougat. Now there is no difference between the company’s Lenovo and Motorola brand’s UI. Apart from the selected Microsoft Office app, the phone has no other blotware. While setting up the phone from Lenovo, you will also get the option to install some apps. However, future updates have not been promised like Android One phone.
Lenovo K8 Plus Performance, Battery Life and Camera
Lenovo has chosen strong hardware for K8 Plus. The results of the benchmark test indicate this. We got 4 GB RAM variants for review. It handles multitasking easily. This phone has so much power that you will not have trouble working on the common used app. We played games like sniper 3D, draft chase and clash Royal on this phone. It never slowed down. However, the phone is definitely hot while playing games for a long time. But this did not spoil our game experience.

The phone’s battery is 4000 mAh. Because of this, the phone has become a bit thicker and has high weight. The battery life is good and the phone will last about one and a half in common use. In our HD video loop test, the battery lasted for 13 hours 49 minutes, which is good. This large battery will be fully charged in about 2 hours from the charger given with the handset.
Lenovo has given a very basic camera app which is easy to use. HDR and camera mode togle can be easily accessed. You will get Panorama and professional mode. You will be able to record videos with 1080 pixels resolution from both cameras at the rate of 30 frames per second.
Landscape photos taken from K8 Plus came well. But there was no sharpness as per our expectation. The pictures taken in HDR mode in daylight seem a bit strange. Sometimes good pictures come and sometimes bad. Night time shots were good. The camera is successful in controlling the noise in low light. Macrose shots were very good. The camera captains photos with details in daylight and low -light situations.
Depth mode can be easily enabled. The difference between the background and the subject is clearly visible in the output. However, we found that the camera slows down a bit after taking some pictures. The 8 -megapixel front camera has a beauty feature. It can be used in manually or auto mode. The pictures taken from the front camera were of good quality. You will be able to use them on the messenger and social networking site without hesitation. Front flash proves to be a feature of work in dark areas.

Our decision
Lenovo wants to gain popularity by choosing stock Android and gaining harmony in features and prices. Lenovo K8 Plus is capable handset and performs every task well in daily use. Battery life is strong. You will be able to use it for more than a day without charging. There is enough storage for common users. The good thing is that you will get a separate slot for microSD card, there is no need to compromise on the second SIM card. Apart from this, the feature with two rear camera is drawing attention to customers today. The camera performance in landscape mode may be better, but it has to be remembered that it is a budget phone. If stock Android experience and good battery life is your priority then Lenovo K8 Plus is a good option.
