18: 9 Aspect ratio is a new smartphone that comes with screen. The new device is an upgrade variant of Honor 6X and has been launched after Honor 9i (Review). This is Honor’s first phone to come with full view display. Along with 7X, the X series of Honor has also had a trend of large displays. Honor has given many features in 7X handsets. But will it be able to achieve success in the market with its price? Let us know in the review to the answers to all these questions.
Honor 7X design
I like smartphones with large displays and Honor 7X is perfect in this sense. The front of the phone is occupied by 5.93 inch screen. There are thin borders on the edges but the thickness at the top and bottom is slightly higher. The screen has earpiece and 8 megapixel front camera on the top. Like the Honor 9i, there is a fingerprint scanner on the 7X rear. The scanner is easy to use and our experience of unlocking the phone was excellent. Honor has used metal unibody in this smartphone, which gives a premium look and feeling. The phone has an antenna band on the top and bottom that reminds us of Honor 8 Pro (Review).

The metal body is curved on the side of the body and because of this the phone looks nice to hold in hand. The phone has the right place on the right side of the phone. And we realized that there is difficulty in reaching the volume button. The bottom is a loudspeaker, 3.5mm headphone socket, primary microphone and micro-USB port. The dual camera setup given on the rear comes with a single-LED flash. Honor has used two rings instead of a single ring. Even before this, we have seen such a camera setup in many recently launched phones. The camera is slightly embossed but due to the metal ring, there is no risk of scratch. The front has an 8 megapixel selfie camera at the front.

Honor

Honor 7X weighs 165 grams, due to which it looks light in the hand. The thickness of the smartphone is 7.6 millimeters while the battery capacity is 3340 mAh. Honor has given a 10 watt charger in the box, which charges the phone 100 percent in two and a half hours.

Honor 7X specification, software and feature
Most of the phones of Honor have a processor of Huawei. The 7X has a high -medical Kirin 659 processor and the same processor has been used in Honor 9i. In Honor 7X, you will get the option of 32 GB and 64 GB storage but both variants have 4 GB RAM. The handset with two Nano SIM slots supports hybrid dual SIM slot which means that only two nano SIM or one SIM and a microSD card will be available. It is possible to increase the storage through microSD cards up to 256 GB. The phone supports 4G and VoLTE on both SIM cards, but 4G work can be accessed on the same network at a time.

Honor 7X has a full HD+ resolution screen equipped with 2.5D curved glass. But there is no mention of any kind of security. The viewing angles are good and Honor has given the option to set the color temperature as per his convenience. Brightness is good in the indoor, but in the sunlight we had problems while using one hand.

Honor

Like all other Honor devices, 7X also runs on the Custom EMUI skin of Huawei. The phone has Android Nougat based EMUI 5.1 skin. You will get the option to choose the layout with and without app drawer. The UI has a theme support for customization. Honor has given a single-handed mode for easy use of the big screen. Apart from this, you can run the app on 18: 9 aspect ratio if they do not scale them on their own.

Along with all the important things, you also get blotware. Honor 7X has Honon’s Support App Hycare and a gaming app store Hygame. Apart from this, there are also web shortcuts like Hi Honor and Honor Communty. Spider-Man: Ultimate Power, Asphalt Nitro, Bubble Bash 3, Modern Combat 4 Zero Hour, and Damo versions of DASHER DASH will get installed in advance. But you can delete them.

Honor 7X Performance, Battery Life and Camera
The Honor 7X uses the use of processor and the same jugalbandi of RAM which is in Honor 9i. And both of them score the same in the benchmark. The phone on Antunu scored 62,504 while Geekbench scored 906 and 3569 respectively in Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core test. The performance in the GFX bench was average. We tried to play the shadow fight 3 game with heavy graphics in the phone and we had no problem in playing the game but it took time to load it.

Honor

It is nice to watch movies and play games on a big display. However, we saw that the phone gets hot after playing the game for a long time. And the battery also costs fast. The phone lasted for a day with general use. But playing games and watching videos affect the battery. The phone’s battery supported our HD video loop test for 8 hours, which is less than this size battery. Honor has given some battery saver software features in the phone and it is easy to use. But they should not be used all the time.

The camera app is easy to use and in addition to default auto mode, you can choose between wide aperture, moving picture and portrait mode. Apart from this, you also get many more mode. There are many other options like Pro photo mode. You can also download other features as per the need.

Photos taken from Honor 7X look good in the first glimpse. However, you can see the lack of detailing when zoom in landscape photos. And you see pixels. Macro shot comes well and the difference between the subject and the background can be clearly seen. Wide aperture mode gives you a good depth of field.

Hands have to be kept stable to take pictures at night. Pictures taken in auto mode at night have low noise but corpuses are cured. But quality is affected. Selfies are also seen scattered but they can be shared on social media. 1080 pixels video recording from primary camera while a maximum of 720 pixels can be recorded from selfie camera.

Our decision
With Honor 7X, the X series is updated. The phone has a large display with 18: 9 ratios. And strong hardware will not disappoint you. The camera performance of the phone is not very good and the battery life could have been better. Honor 7X is a good option if you want a phone with a modern look. But if you want an all -rounder device then Xiaomi Mi A1 (review) will be a better option.
