LG launched three variants of Q6 with different RAMs in early July. And Q6 with 3 GB RAM has been introduced in India. The LG Q6 smartphone has been brought with an aggressive price of less than Rs 15,000. And LG hopes that budget customers will like this price. However, will the Q6 be able to succeed on the basis of the display? Let’s know
LG Q6 Design and Texture
The LG Q6, which comes with a 5.5 inch display, is certainly the most convenient smartphone we have recently used. And the credit goes to its extremely slim screen border. Like the G6, the edges of the display are curved, but Gorilla Glass has a flat rather than 2.5D curved. The resolution of the screen is 2160×1080 pixels. However, there is no notification LED or allways-on display for the notifications missed in the phone, so you have to keep on turning the display to see the notification. The top camera and sensors above the screen are empty space, while the bottom is just an LG logo.
Aluminum sheets of 7000 series have been used to make this phone, which affects. Because such metal is usually used for more expensive phones. Also on the side of the phone, the display is curved. The rear of the phone is made of plastic and it gets spots easily. And the phone may look slightly ugly during daily use. Scratches are also easily scratched on the phone, so you have to be careful while using the phone.

The phone is fine in running the power and volume button on the left side. The phone has two Nano-SIM cards and slots for a microSD card. In the first slot, a nano SIM and a microSD card while the second SIM card can be used in the second slot. This phone has a headphone jack on the bottom and a micro-USB port. There is a mono speaker on the rear. The phone disappoints the absence of USB Type-C port in the phone, while the phone only works at USB 2.0 speed. The good thing is that the camera module on the rear is flat and we did not see any problem due to any rise during the review.
If you have not noticed yet, then let us know that Q6 has a big fault and that is the lack of fingerprint sensor. It is not known for which reasons, LG has not given this security feature in the phone. Instead, face recognition has been given in the phone, which works well but the phone has some flaws for which you will have to be alert. Default, face recognition works quite fast- for this you just have to bring your phone, face and the phone will be unlocked automatically. However, the phone can also be unlocked easily by putting a picture of a user in front of the camera. In addition, the user is allowed to register only one face, but you can also store someone else’s face by going to the option ‘Improve Face Recognition’. However, you will need a pattern or pin to use this feature.

Apart from this, one way to make face recognition more secure is ‘Advanced Face Recognition’. Along with enabling it, 2D picture cannot be used in your face, but it takes time to unlock the phone. Along with this, this whole process does not work even in low light.
Overall, Q6 is a good device in appearance, and the credit goes to the phone’s display. The phone’s texture is good, remains stable in the hands and overall its design is comfortable. But we were disappointed due to not giving fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port and notification lights in the phone.
LG Q6 Specification and Feature
Q6 is not a very powerful smartphone and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, which has also been given in Xiaomi Redmi 4 (Review), a phone than Rs 10,000. This phone has a 64-bit octa-core processor that comes with a maximum speed of 1.4 GHz. Talking about graphics, the phone has an Adreno 505 GPU. The benchmark figures of the phone were quite average.
Talking about the second specification, the phone has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi B/G/N, USB-OTG, FM Radio and 4G VOLTE. The dialer app of Q6 does not have a direct video call option, which is usually seen in Samsung’s phone. We were happy to see the latest version of Android in the phone, the company has given Android 7.1.1 Nougat in Q6. Security patches in the phone also get quick and fast. (1 July during our review)

LG’s default theme is not very light but you can customize them. And through the setting app, you can get a feeling of stock Android to a great extent. The phone has an onscreen navigation button on the bottom of the screen that can be customized and re-ordered. In addition, there is also a fourth button to switch a SIM or nirate the notification shed. The default single layer look can be replaced by traditional app drawer layout. Apart from this, there is also Google Assistant.
The phone has LG mobile switch app, which helps to send the data of the old device easily in Q6, user LG customer care through Remotecall Service can control your phone to solve trouble, LG product information and theme for the theme is available in LG Smart World. With the help of a smart doctor, you can check the phone’s battery, storage and RAM use. The notification shed also has a tole which is named Capture+, from which the screenshot can be written along with artwork.
The setting app is divided into two tabs, which helps in finding a feature. The downloaded app can be adjusted to the screen of 18: 9. The same is the same with the game app, the aspect ratio can be switched but doing so will restart the app. Through several second settings, the setting of font, text size and thickness and blue light filters can be changed.

LG Q6 Performance, Camera and Battery Life
In spite of bad benchmark data, Q6 all the necessary work is done easily. We liked the phone interface. The shocking thing is that multitasking is easy and the apps are rapidly loaded. The phone is not hot during normal use, but the metal frame becomes hot while playing the game. Most 3D games in Q6 can be well played with playable framerators. Games like Xenowerk run easily but have difficulty playing games like Asphalt 8.

LG has given a feature named ‘Game Battery Saver’. This graphics can adjust the quality of rendering and framaret, so that battery consumption can decrease. We noticed that the Framerate of Easfault 8 improves slightly but the game did not work as well as expected. Apart from this, there is also a feature named ‘Break Time’ which pose the game while not using the phone and reduces the performance of screen brightness and processor.
Q6’s display is good for media playback. However, the 4K video files do not run in the phone. The screen reflects slightly but brightness is good and colors are also good. While watching and listening to games and media, speakers are very fast, but since the speakers are on the back, the best experience is not available.
The 13 -megapixel rear camera provides landscape and macro photos with good detailing. Colors are good in pictures and focus is also very fast. The Q6 camera viewfinder is a DSLR-style Green Square showing autofocus points, but this does not always mean that the subject is in focus. The best is to tap your subject in the viewfinder to get the appropriate focus. Even in low light, good pictures come from the camera but there is a little noise and information like text can also be read in the background.

The quality of the recorded video is good but the resolution is limited to 1080 pixels. Footel is quite stable when using a ‘Steady Recording’ togle in the setting. A 5-megapixel front camera brings extremely average selfie but you get a wide-angle mode, which makes many people easily fit into the frame.
The camera app is plain and easy to navigate. All buttons and togles are given the right place as expected. The phone has a square camera mode which is similar to the mode given in G6. Through this, half the screen can be used as a viewfinder and for the frame of your shot. LG has also given a hidden craft for quick sharing on social media.
The battery life is good but the 3000 mAh battery ends rapidly while watching videos continuously. In our video loop test, the battery lasted less than 10 hours, which is not good. Fast charging support also disappoints.
Our decision
18: 9 screen aspect ratio is definitely going to be popular in the world of smartphone. And LG Q6 is equipped with this premium feature despite its budget price and this is also its biggest selling point. Rather, even after a few years, Q6 should probably look modern. It is not the most powerful smartphone in your category, but if you are looking for a phone with strong specifications then Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Review), Honor 6X (Video review) And there are options like Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (Review).
The Q6 is made in the race due to its design and display, and we also liked the custom Android UI customization level. Apart from these things, the phone also has some other good things. The budget level processor limits the high demand for games and apps in the phone. The rear camera is excellent but the front camera could have been better. Battery life is also not very good. Apart from this, the absence of fingerprint sensor also makes the phone inconvenient.
Our advice is that if you are looking for a beautiful look phone and want to perform a little then LG Q6 is a good option.
