Design of Lenovo K10 Note

We talked about the symplicity of the handset in the first impression of Lenovo’s 10 notes. Its design is good but not everyone is going to attract attention. The body is made of plastic, which is good quality and the phone looks strong. We liked that the back and side were made of a single piece of plastic, due to which the phone’s grip in hands was quite good.

We have a night black color variant of Lenovo K10 Note for review, although it was difficult to keep it clean. It was not easy to clean the spots on the plastic back panel. At present, only one color variant of the phone has been launched. The volume and power button on the right side of the phone, while the dual-SIM slot has got a place on the left side of the phone.

Both slots come with 4G VoLTE support, while the fingerprint sensor has got a place for security in the rear of the phone. MicroSD cards can be used to increase internal storage, but it is worth noting that for this you have to remove another SIM. Meaning only a SIM and a microSD card can be used in this phone.

All Ports are at the bottom of Lenovo’s 10 notes. Playing games with wire headphones, 3.5 millimeter headphone jack will come in the middle if you hold the phone in landscape mode. The speaker will not block easily as it is placed above the USB Type-C port. Lenovo’s 10 note has a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LCD display on which colors look well.

The phone does not have a gorilla glass, but according to Lenovo, Panda Glass is used in K10 Note. The viewing angles are also good, the display comes with a dudrop-hit but the bezel is not very thin nor too thick. The notification LED has found a place in the earpiece. The fingerprint sensor given in the back of the phone also correctly identifies.

There is also a fan unlock feature but the default of Android Pie is slow and it does not work properly in low light. In the retail box, there will be 18 watt fast charger, type-C cable, SIM eject tools and some manuals with Lenovo’s 10 notes. For the information of people, let us know that the case will not be available with the phone.

Lenovo K10 Note Specifications and Software

Lenovo’s 10 Note has a powerful processor, the handset is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. This octa-core chip is made from 10mm fabrication process. The price of Lenovo’s 10 notes starts at Rs 13,999 in India. This price will be sold to 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage variants.

Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, compass and proximity sensors are part of this phone. Lenovo’s 10 notes run on the custom version of Android 9 Pie, but the customization is not very heavy, so its look and feel stock is close to Android. The notification shed is designed in such a way that in this you will see only two lines of togle switch.

Instead of second swipe-down action for other buttons you have to swipe to the left. The order of the switch can be customized. A large watch will be seen as a widget on the home screen of Lenovo’s 10 Note, which will also give you information about Weather etc. The app drawer will open when swipe upwards from the home screen.

The Settings app also has some additional features such as 4D U-Tech Manu, this feature helps you to swap three-button navigation for gesture. Our Review Unit May 2019 is running on Android Security Patch which is quite old. We also liked features such as screenshot editor or in-milk screen recording. Lenovo K10 Note does not have much blotware, in the phone you will get Lenovo curated app store app daily which is nothing special. Games like Asphalt Nitro, Puzzle Pets and Spider-Man: Ultimate Power will get pre-install in the phone, but you can also uninstall these games if you want.

Lenovo K10 Note Performance and Battery Life

Despite Lenovo having a large display in 10 notes, it seems compact. It was easy to use the phone due to the slim body and light weight of the device. It is possible to use the phone with one hand to some extent but it is still difficult to reach the upper corners of the screen. Android went well in our 4 GB RAM variants. Apps loaded rapidly and heavy games also went well.

It did not heats up on the normal use of the phone, but it was a bit hot while playing the game. We played PUBG Mobile on a high preset and the phone did not hesitate even after a 30 -minute gameplay. Lenovo’s 10 notes run the media playback well. The high-government video on the display looks good and due to being Dolby Atomas, the single speaker in the phone also makes a good sound.

You can choose from three presets, dynamic, music and movie. The battery life of the phone is also good. In our battery loop test, the 4050 mAh battery supported for 13 hours 14 minutes. General use includes chat apps, music streaming, camera usage and gaming. The Lenovo K10 Note 18 Watt comes with fast charging support. In an hour only 63 percent battery takes two and a half hours to get the phone full charge.

Lenovo K10 Note Cameras

Lenovo’s 10 notes have three rear cameras. There will be a 16 -megapixel primary camera with F/ 1.8 aperture on the back. The 8 -megapixel telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom is given and the third is a 5 -megapixel depth sensor. The primary sensor comes with PDAF with which the focus speed is faster. The telephoto sensor takes some time to lock the focus.

The primary sensor of Lenovo’s 10 note captures details during the shooting in Landscape. Colors over did not look saturated and white balance was also usually good. We also liked that there was not much sharpness in pictures. The details in the middle of the frame were sharp. The phone also performed well in the close-up shot but we often had to tap on the viewfinder to get the right exposure.

The telephoto camera comes with 2x optical zoom, the details in sufficient lights are well captured. The edges around the object did not have as sharpness as primary sensor but the shots were good in sufficient light. The camera of the phone was slightly slow in focusing, it was a little difficult to take a picture of the fast moving object. The camera in low-light depends on digital zoom rather than switching to the sensor. The image quality was good.

In the Lenovo K10 Note, portrait mode is called dual, with the help of this you can add some extra background blur. Blur’s level cannot be adjusted before and after taking a picture. Apart from this, it saves the picture in a few seconds of pressing the shutter button. Edge detection was good, you will also get panorama and pro mode, with the help of which shutter speed is set and also gives the option to save the DNG RAW file.

Lenovo’s 10 notes in the low-light in the indoor clicked good pictures without more noise. Where the light was very low, there was some difficulty in capturing the camera well. The picture looked good in the phone’s display but when zoomed, blur texture and grain were seen. Night shooting mode has also been given for the primary camera, with the help of which good pictures came in the indoor but it is not very good during the low light in the outdoor.

Lenovo’s 10 notes had a 16 -megapixel selfie camera’s quality average. Even after the beauty filter was closed, sharpness and colors were not very accurate in skin texture. Apart from this, there is also beauty mode which comes with a preset beauty effect. If you want, you can also create a custom beauty filter for your face.

Lenovo K10 is capable of shooting videos up to 4K resolution. The picture quality was also average, especially when shot in landscape. The quality was a bit better when shot at 1080 resolution but the phone does not have stabilization that may disappoint you. But the camera works well in low-light.

Our decision

By paper, Lenovo’s 10 Note is a good phone of Lenovo in the budget segment. It is light and the app performance is also good, display is vivid and battery life is also strong. The rear cameras given in the back of the phone are also correct and having a telephoto camera in this price segment is also very good. Now let’s talk about things that could have better Lenovo’s 10 notes and include body finish.

It was difficult to keep the plastic back panel clean. The camera is not very good in low-light. The phone also does not have electronic stabilization, the selfie camera was also nothing special. Overall, Lenovo K10 Note is acceptable but Realme 5 Pro in this price segment and Xiaomi mi a3 ,Review) Also can prove to be a better option.
