When it comes to TV, TVs with LED-LCD technology are usually common in the market because they are also affordable. When Xiaomi stepped into the TV segment, the company’s focus was on LCD TV. Xiaomi’s LED TVs are still being sold in a large number of markets. But it has also tried her hand in the premium segment with models like Mi QLED TV 4K, which are available in a huge 75 -inch size for Rs 1,39,999. Taking this approach forward, the company has now introduced its first OLED TV TV in India.

Xiaomi OLED Vision TV The price in India is Rs 89,999. It comes in a 55 -inch single size variant and is the company’s most expensive TV in this size in India. It is quite competition and wants to enjoy OLED screen technology at a low price by not spending money on expensive price premium TVs, it is going to be the first choice for them. Xiaomi has launched this TV at a price where you get to watch high-end quantum dot LED TV of brands like Sony, Samsung and OnePlus.

The TV has specifications like Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos. Is this TV of Xiaomi with features like 30W sound output and Ultra-HD OLED screen is the best TV at a price less than Rs 1 lakh? Find out in this review.

Xiaomi OLED Vision (55-inch) Altra-HD Design and Specifications of Android TV

Most of the 55 -inch OLED TVs come above Rs 1 lakh, but Xiaomi has launched it for Rs 89,999, making the price competing at the price. Currently it can be called the most affordable OLED TV found in India. The meeting of OLED display at this price makes this TV special.

Apart from the price, the company does not have any skimp in TV design and specifications. The thickness of the TV is only 4.6mm and it is quite slim on the edges. However, it is quite thick in the middle area towards its back panel. The bezel given on the screen is quite thin from all around. The module given in the bottom has Xiaomi’s logo, indicator light, power switch and switch for for-field microphones.

The TV can be mount and stand mount. Standard vesa compatible wall mounts can be used with it. Xiaomi provides free proportionate installation for this. The stand comes with the sales box of this TV but the wall mount kit is not available. However, at the time of installation, it becomes available when requested for the wall mount kit.

After mounting the wall, TV’s ports and sockets can be easily accepted. The face of RJ45 Ethernet port, optical audio-out (Toslink) port, RCA socket and antenna socket is given downwards while three HDMI 2.1 port, two USB type-A port and 3.5mm audio are left to the left of the jack screen. The support of HDMI ARC is given at any one port. The power cable is attached permanently from the TV on the right side of the screen, which is very small according to my choice.

Xiaomi OLED Vision TV has a 55 -inch ultra HD 3840×2160 pixels OLED display, which has the ability to shine itself and does not need backlighting. The TV has the support of the Dolby Vision IQ and the high dynamic range content up to the HDR10+ format. It has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz and 98.5 percent DCI-P3 color gamut is supported. The contrast ratio is 15,00,000: 1 and a Reality Flow MeMc engine for motion interpoliation.

For the sound, this TV has a 30 -watt speaker system, which has 8 drivers and Dolby ATMOS and DTS: X format support. Bluetooth 5 has been supported for connectivity to connect Wi-Fi 6 and dual band, Ethernet and TV remote to TV. The TV has 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage and has a quad core Arm Cortex-A73 processor.

Xiaomi OLED Vision (55-inch) Altra-HD remote and features of Android TV

Some things never change. Xiaomi’s TV remote is also one of them. The company’s basic, ordinary plastic comes with a Bluetooth remote box, which shows some mild changes. If you look at the TV price, the absence of a battery with a remote disappoints.

The remote works well and some of the latest features are added to it such as Quick Mute (pressing the volume button twice), Quick Wake (to turn on the TV from Standby in 3-4 seconds), Quick Settings, Quick Settings (Press the patch wall button). You can also switch between Xiaomi’s patchwall user interface and stock Android TV.

It has hot for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar. Microphones for button and voice commands have also been given on TV to activate Google Assistant. Apart from this, the TV has also been given for-field microphones which have been set on Always Lisan for Wake Command.

Xiaomi

Assistant can be activated by calling Ok Google ‘or’ Hey Google ‘from any corner of the room. It also easily understands complex commands. Microphones always listen to this mode. If it is a matter of privacy for you, then it has also been given the option to turn off it.

TV also has a built-in cross and low-altancy feature for gaming. Apart from this, there is no other special feature for gaming. The refresh rate is 60Hz which means that it can be used with the gaming console of the current generation.

Xiaomi OLED Vision (55-inch) Ultra-HD Android TV software and interface

Xiaomi OLED Vision TV runs on Android TV 11. It has Patchwall 4 and Stock Android TV user interface at the top. Apps and games can be installed through Google Play Store, which has a list of more than 5,000 apps including popular content streaming apps, social media apps and other services.

No major features have been added to the Patchwall, but still it is a content focus UI and gives good experience. IMDB Integration is available in it and the Mi Home app has been given for access to the IOT devices of your home.

Some things have been added to the last Xiaomi TV review I reviewed. The interface now looks like a UI like Google TV in the end of 2021. Although the absence of Netflix in the Recmand engine may disappoint you, but for this you can use Google Assistant and Regular Search.

The overall software experience with TV is quite good and I did not find any bug etc. during use. Personally, as I liked its app focused approach, some users may also like its patchwall content friendly interface.

Xiaomi OLED Vision (55-inch) Ultra-HD Android TV Performance

Around the budget of Rs 1 lakh, customers will go towards a good quantum dot LED TV for 55 inch TVs, Sony’s Trichyuminous Range, Samsung’s QLED TV and One Plus TV Q1 Pro etc. However, Xiaomi’s TV offers customers better screen technology at a price of less than 1 lakh.

This does not mean here that Xiaomi’s TV premium stands with LG CX range like OLED TV, but you definitely get the support of OLED technology in it. I watched the content from Ultra-HD Dolby Vision to Simple Standard Definition on TV in many resolution and dynamic range and TV performed the same as it was expected in this prime.

Xiaomi

In Ultra-HD Dolby Vision I saw LOVE, Death & Robots Season 3 on Netflix. TV performed quite well. Blacks on TV were excellent. The contrast level was also perfect. The night time scene also looked quite good on TV.

The effect of Dolby Vision was clearly detected, not only in brightness but also in colors. The same was seen by watching The World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, in which beautiful landskape and holiday homes looked quite impressive.

Better Call Saul appeared quite sharp and details in Ultra HD resolution. In this too, black level and dark scenes looked quite good. The brightness level did not feel so strong even in the day light scene, but the sharpness and color acurasi were much better. While watching the better call Saul, I saw some motion interpolation problem in it. Many times it seemed to be diverting attention and was coming out as a big flaw of TV.

Xiaomi

FullHD and low-resolution content looked quite good on TV. In the lower resolution, where sharpness was low, it was completing the natural soft sense of TV. Colors and black levels were good in Matrix resurrections, Kim’s Convenience and Formula 1 race etc. There was some problem with motion here too, which was more visible in Formula 1 race.

The sound of Xiaomi OLED Vision TV will be said to be right in its place. The sound comes quite clear. It is heard the same in all types of content. But it is realized in SICST and sports content where dialogues and commentary need to be heard. No growing sound is heard in the sound and it gives clean, uniform sound even when the volume is high.

The sound becomes more effective by the support of Dolby ATMOS. Although the sound was good in it, but a sound can be used in Sony HT-A7000 or its equal equivalent to get a better sound experience according to the resolution of TV.

Our decision

The cost in purchasing an OLED TV has made this category a ultra premium. But Xiaomi’s competition approach has put the TV more inside. It gives a fierce competition to Quantum dot LED TV of brands like Sony and Samsung. If you have a budget of Rs 1 lakh and you want to buy a 55 -inch TV, then it is from my top choice.

Blacks look great in Xiaomi OLED Vision TV. Its colors, sharpness, good software, reliable performance and value for money are fully justice. However, it found some shortcomings in motion places, but overall experience was very good. It can be said that this TV is the best for those audience who watch high resolution HDR content or are watching a TV which is 4K and in which the black level is very good, they also spend more money without spending more money.
